Moral superiority does not derive from academic credentials, nor from which office a person has held before. But it definitely also does not derive from being a member of a group in society labeled "oppressed." The latter is what many self-proclaimed "progressives" seem to believe. This, along with many other examples, only feeds public distrust in higher education, justifiably so. As long as Yale instructs future educators the widely debunked and actually grossly false "1619 project" as material to teach in history class, higher education's credibility will only decrease.
